Using video out from H107D controller
« on: March 08, 2016, 10:11:20 PM »
I recently bought the Quanum DIY goggles and had to figure out how to get the H107D controller to work with goggles without using an extra video receiver.

Get a normal 3 pole stereo headphone cable (the type with 2 black rings on the shaft, not the Apple type).
Cut off one connector and strip the wires of the headphone cable and a RCA phono cable. Connect the shielding of the two cables together and then connect the wire coming from the center ring on the headphone cable (right audio) to the signal wire of the RCA cable. If you don't see video you've connected the left audio wire by mistake: it doesn't matter because the Hubsan controller doesn't use it. Twisting the wires together works but soldering is better.

Unlike a lot of other devices, connecting video-out doesn't turn off the Hubsan screen. I was hoping it would (to save batteries): I might put a switch in.

FPV with goggles is a very different experience from looking at the screen!
